Lahaul and Spiti is one of the largest districts of Himachal Pradesh. The region is a favorite among intrepid travellers, who hit the road to Lahul and Spiti to get a high. The Rohtang Pass about 50 kilometres from Manali is the only entry point to Lahaul Valley. The other route is through Kinnaur district that enters into Spiti valley. The nearest airport to reach Lahul and Spiti is Bhutar airport, which is in Kullu.
Since Lahaul valley remain cut off with rest of the country for most part of the year due to heavy snow, the best time to tour Lahul and Spiti is from May to mid October.
There are a number of places of tourist attractions in Lahaul and Spiti that you can visit on your luxury Lahul and Spiti travel. Monasteries are the popular tourist attractions in Lahaul. Lake Chandra Tal is a wonderful tourist destination that you can approach through the Kumzam Pass that links Lahaul and Spiti. Perched on the 600 m above the valley is the Shashur monastery that can be approached by trekking about three kilometres.
Kardang is the largest monastery that is a must visit on your luxury Lahaul and Spiti travel. The barrel sized drums, beautiful paintings, musicals instruments and large statues of Buddha are the highlights of the monastery. Gramphu, located on the Manali-Leh highway is another must visit site.
Some other tourist destinations that you can visit on your luxury Lahaul and Spiti travel include Gondla, Udaipur, Bara Lacha Pass, Mrikula Devi temple, Suraj Tal, Batal, Bara Shigri Glacier and Sarchu.
