 Also known as the Pink City, Jaipur is the capital of rajasthan. The first planned city in India, Jaipur was founded by Sawai Jai Singh II, when he was looking for a safe place from Amber some 300 years ago. His search ended when he found Jaipur and commissioned Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, an architect from Bengal to construct the city. Vidhyadhar designed the model of the city according to the Shilpa Shastra, the science of architecture.
