 The Royal Orient is rated among the world's most lavish and luxurious trains. Developed on the lines of the famous Palace On wheels, the train is equipped with all the modern facilities on board. It was started as a joint venture of the Tourist Corporation of Gujarat Limited and the Indian railways during 1994-95.
The Royal Orient's itinerary includes 7 Nights/8 Days of a memorable and joyful journey. The luxurious train takes you to many beautiful and colorful cities, historical monuments, National Parks and Sanctuaries and temples. The train provides a lifetime travel experience to its passengers. It departs on every Wednesday during September to April from the Delhi Cantt. Railway station.
Day 01 - Wednesday - Delhi
Royal Orient leaves Delhi Cantonment Railway station at 15.00 Hrs. Enjoy your dinner on board the train. Stay overnight in the royal comforts of the luxury train.
Day 02 - Thursday - Chittorgarh, Udaipur
Early morning arrival at Chittorgarh. Visit the famous Chittorgarh Fort here. Later return back to the train to have your breakfast on board. Thereafter, you depart for Udaipur, the city of lakes. Enjoy your lunch at a hotel in Udaipur. Later enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Visit the famous City Palace, Shilpgram, a craft village, and Royal Gardens. Enjoy an exotic boating in lake Pichola. Then, the Royal Orient leave for Mehsana.
Day 03 - Friday - Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Junagarh, Veraval
Early morning arrival at Mehsana in Gujarat. Visit the Sun Temple at Modhera, the Rani ki Vav and the Patola weaving Center at Patan. Then enjoy your lunch in a hotel in Ahmedabad. Here you the Adalaj Vav, Sidi Sayyad Mosque, Calico Textile Museum, and Gandhi Ashram. In Junagarh you visit Ashokan Rock Edict and Darbar Hall Museum and Mausoleum of Nawab Mahabat Khan. In Veraval you visit famous Somnath temple.
Day 04 - Saturday - Sasangir, Ahmedpur, Mandvi
You have your breakfast on board and start for a tour of the Gir Lion sanctuary where you can spot the famous Asiatic Lion. Then you go to Delwada from where you are taken to famous Ahmedpur-Mandvi beach, the most beautiful beaches in Gujarat. Also visit the Diu Fort and St. Paul's Cathedral on your tour to Diu.
Day 05 - Sunday - Palitana, Sarkhej
Visit the famous Jain temples situated at Shatrunjaya Hills in Palitana. Thereafter visit Sarkhej, where you can experience a real rural life at the famous Vishalla village. Then have your dinner at a hotel and return back to your train for an overnight journey to Udaipur.
Day 06 - Monday - Udaipur
In the morning the Royal Orient arrives at Udaipur. After your breakfast, enjoy a tour to famous Jain temples at Ranakpur. Thereafter, the train departs for Jaipur.
Day 07 - Tuesday - Jaipur
The train reaches Jaipur early in the morning. Thereafter, you enjoy a sightseeing city tour of Jaipur, the pink city. Visit the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar (a famous observatory). Later enjoy an elephant ride up to Amber Fort. Then you return back to your train and have your dinner served on board and the train departs for Delhi.
Day 08 - Wednesday - Delhi
Arrival: 07.40hrs
Enjoy your breakfast on board. The train arrives at Delhi Cantt. Railway station at 07.40 hrs. And your journey of a lifetime comes to its conclusion.
